Sharon's wardrobe in Catastrophe
"I'm a man, so I married. Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe." Zorba the Greek
This is what inspired the title of the show and it's actually the perfect way to summarize it.
In the first episode of the London-based comedy, Irish teacher Sharon picks up American Rob for a weekend tryst; and learns, after he's returned State-side, that she's pregnant. He returns to the U.K. upon learning the news; and they set out to turn their brief encounter into a serious commitment.
I'm currently watching Season 3 which will unfortunately end next week.
If you're looking for a down-to-earth and sarcastic sitcom, with out-loud-jokes and funny characters who have real life problems, then watch Catastrophe (it's on Amazon Prime).
Apart from the fact that it's very deliciously well written and that it's all about an Irish-American couple living in London, I'm totally in love with the colorful aesthetic of the show.
Sharon is wearing lots of patterns, animal prints, colorful fur coat and bold colors all together. She has a really loud laugh and a thick accent. She is the kind of stylish and laid-back teacher that I wish I had. I'm also completely jealous of their London flat's decor which features an incredible mustard yellow velvet Chesterfield sofa. This show really changed my mind about British's sense of fashion and design. I love it. Stop talking about la Parisienne, be a Londoner.
It seems like the Costume Designers changed from season to season :
Elizabeth Healy ...(6 episodes, 2015)
Matthew Price ...(5 episodes, 2015)
Amanda Monk ...(5 episodes, 2017)
Rosa Dias ...(1 episode, 2015)
I can't say much more about Sharon's killing wardrobe because it's so perfect I could wear a collection called Catastrophe, so I'll let you enjoy the pictures.........
Spoiler alert : this is the Season 3 trailer - although there is not much to spoil because there is not much suspense lol. Anyway, it's just to give you an idea...
I'd love to hear from you if you're also watching this show !!
